How does your organisation appear in AI answers?

What does someone read when they ask an AI system for an explanation, a comparison, or possible providers? We investigate which questions are important for your customers and how your organisation appears in them.

Then we look at what information is missing or incorrect, and improve the content and findability that we can influence.

A technical term and a common name

In technical literature, this subject is often called "GEO", standing for generative engine optimisation. On this page, we mostly use the term "AI visibility". This is a focus area within marketing, not a separate main discipline alongside strategy, marketing, and technology.

Different types of visibility

Being mentioned, being cited as a source, being described correctly in terms of content, generating a click-through, and leading to a business next step are five different things. For example, an organisation may be mentioned, but with outdated or incorrect information.

These distinctions help to name precisely what we are investigating and what we want to improve.

A research setup instead of a single check

We work with a defined set of relevant questions, chosen AI systems, a set language, a date, and where relevant, a location context. The same questions are viewed repeatedly.

A single good or bad outcome does not prove how all users see your organisation. Answers from AI systems can differ per moment, language, and context.

What we can address

We can work on factual clarity about your organisation and offer, useful explanations, practical examples, accessible pages, substantiated claims, and where relevant, correct listings in external places. We do not promise control over the answers an AI model ultimately gives.

Alignment with SEO

For Google's generative search functions, established SEO principles remain relevant, as described in the official Google Search Central guidelines. This does not automatically apply to every other AI system, which often works in a different way. Read more about the basics on SEO.

A special file, a set writing template, or specific structured data are not guaranteed entry to AI answers. They can, however, contribute to clearer, more findable content.

Limits to what you can measure

Models and interfaces of AI systems change regularly. A visibility score is a tool within a chosen investigation. It is not an objective market share and not a measurement of revenue.

Frequently asked questions

Can AI visibility be guaranteed? No, we have no influence on how a model ultimately answers. Which questions do you investigate? The questions that align with what your potential customers would actually ask an AI system. Is a mention the end goal? Not in itself; it is about a correct description that can ultimately contribute to a business next step.
